Course Outcomes
- Define fundamental sociological concepts such as individual, group, associations, and institutions
- Analyze Indian society through caste, tribe, agrarian, and industrial perspectives
- Explain core ideas of major thinkers like Montesquieu, Rousseau, Spencer, Marx, Weber, and Durkheim
- Understand Political Sociology and its interdisciplinary connections
- Discuss sociological views on religion, gender, class, and race
- Study kinship, marriage systems, and economic activities sociologically
- Analyze anthropological approaches like functionalism and structuralism
Mentoring
The department offers a dedicated mentorship program where each student is paired with a faculty mentor. Mentors provide guidance on academics, careers, and personal growth, fostering a supportive environment for professional and personal development.
Internship
In the 6th semester, students undertake internships with organizations in Jalukie town, including the Civil Hospital, Police Department, NGOs, and Rehabilitation Centers. These experiences provide practical exposure to healthcare, law enforcement, community service, and inclusivity efforts, enriching students’ sociological understanding and career readiness.
